Scottish Borders Deer Stalking

Roe deer stalking in the Scottish Borders

What we offer

Roe Deer stalking offers some of the most exhilirating and exciting deer stalking in the world and can be at its very best here in Scotland.
At Scottish Borders Roe Deer Stalking we are able to offer first class stalking for Roe Buck and Roe Doe's during their relevant season which stretches from 1st April to 31st October for Bucks, and from 21st October to 31st March for Doe's.
The Hunting areas are made up of a number of larger farms and country estates where we manage the Roe Deer population.
The majority of the ground is open farmland with medium sized woodland blocks, wooded shelter belts, criss-crossed with hedgerows and ditches where the Roe deer come out to browse on and travel alongside.
This means that the deer can be easily spotted, but makes stalking into them more difficult, therefore we have to use available cover to get within a shooting distance and this can be very exciting hunting.
We are proud to have a high number of clients who return every year to hunt with us.
During the whole of the summer (Particularly from early May - mid August) bucks can be seen chasing each other and marking territories, and can be very active during this period.however the majority of our bucks are shot between April to July as this can be before ground cover gets to heavy and dense to be able to see roe bucks clearly.
Fortunately we have a number of hunting areas above 1000ft/350m above sea level, and these areas take longer for ground cover to become a problem.
The Roe buck season is at its most thrilling during the rut in late July and early August when Roe Bucks throw caution to the wind in their attempt to mate.
It is during the rut that Roe bucks can also be seen to come to a well executed call, and we have shot a number of bucks within 25m of the waiting hunter, something which when witnessed can be a truly memorable experience!!!!
Our Roe Buck stalking is in beautiful countryside locations within the Scottish Borders, an area that is one of the least populated in Scotland.
Within our cull plan we have a number of medal class animals and can offer superb stalking for both the serious trophy hunter or those who simply wish to be able to continue their stalking throughout the summer months.
The grounds are one hour from Edinburgh Airport and 11/2hours from Newcastle Airport or you can come by car via ferry to Queensferry or to Newcastle.
We can also offer assistance and advice on accomodation as required.
